Gotta dance? Step it up in Des Moines

It must be dance recital season. Several times over the past few weeks, on various days and times, I’ve seen little girls all glammed up in little sequined costumes, crossing downtown streets with their parents in tow headed toward the Civic Center. (I’m actually old enough that my dance recitals were held at the KRNT Theater, but that’s another story!)
Anyway, seeing all those kids got me thinking the other day about the tap dancing class I took in college with my good friend Sandy, and about the “salsa nights” that are now held regularly in Des Moines. And it occurred to me that it shouldn’t just be kids who are encouraged to dance.
