Here are some pictures from Day 1 of the Good Guys Heartland Nationals!
Update Day 2: It was really hot today - we didn’t do much walking around at the show, and I did even less picture-taking. I did add two shots to the end of the webshots album, one of our 1959 Ford just for Jodi! Also, ran into Doug from Ankeny Photo, so I’m sure you’ll be seeing some of his awesome pictures soon.
Update Day 3: Another scorcher - the only saving grace to this show has been the breeze. Today we tried to walk around a little more - I’m sunburned to a crisp. I did ride the SkyGlider today to get some overhead pictures, but even those don’t fully capture the size and color of this show. Here’s the start of the Sunday pictures - all photos are now in the Webshots album linked above.

LOVE that ‘59 Ford. Awesome! I can just smell those refurbished cars just looking at the pictures. You know that smell? That old but mint-condition smell? Great pictures - great fun. Stay cool out there in the heat! And send someone to our open house…it’s 2:03 and nobody yet. Please don’t tell me I cleaned for nothing. ha.
Jodi, glad you’re enjoying the photos! The car that smelled the best was the one built by our friend Jason… he just finished his car after about six years of building (all home-built, but absolutely stunning!) and his leather interior’s brand new! LOL SO many beautiful cars - we only saw a small portion, I’m sure, because it was just too hot to do much walking around. And yes, that means we spent a LOT of time sitting out in our lawn chairs, under the shade awning. WHY is it we like this hobby?? LOL ~ Janet
