Kitchen Collage encourages picnics

Once again I’m just so delighted at the email newsletter produced by the folks at East Village’s Kitchen Collage. Teresa & Molly really understand how to produce an email that I, for one, want to read - and that I look forward to receiving.
I wish this thing was available online as a webpage so I could share it with you. But in a nutshell, here’s how they do it:
They assign a theme to each monthly issue. The theme for the issue I received today was “Pack a Picnic,” but past themes have included “Spring Greens” and “Cakes and Tarts.” The picnic issue is brimming with ideas ranging from supply checklists, menu suggestions, excuses to have a picnic, and a picnic Q&A. There’s even a potato salad recipe. Of course, the issue also covers events at the Kitchen Collage store, such as classes and wine tastings, as well as hints about in-store products that can help make your picnic a little easier.
Perhaps the neatest thing about this issue, though, was the section called “Where to go on a picnic.” Here they list a few upcoming outdoor events (Nitefall on the River, Blues Before Sunset and Music Under the Stars) as well as three beautiful parks: Gray’s Lake, Grandview and Ewing.
This pub is always a good blend of store promotion and helpful information.
