Iowa Events Center TURNS A PROFIT!

Posted on August 3, 2007 in Around the metro, Economic Development by DM

In only its second full year of operation, the Iowa Events Center has turned a profit for the fiscal year ending June 30 - even better news than reported earlier! Polk County taxpayers will therefore not have to pay any of the $114,000 subsidy originally budgeted for the Center. The IEC will actually put money into Polk County reserves, according to Global Spectrum, the company that manages the Center.  This is great news, especially given the significant property tax increases we’ll all be seeing in the next month as tax statements arrive. My cap’s tipped to Matt Homan, general manager of IEC.
