How I Spent My Summer Vacation

Posted on August 7, 2007 in Around the metro by DM

It’s August already! The sales tax holiday is over, as is the big garage sale at the White House on Penn Avenue. I’m not sure exactly how this all happened so quickly, but here we are nearing the end of another summer vacation! I’ve really enjoyed reading about everyone’s summer adventures, and thought it would be neat to round up a few of the posts about your vacations and other “summer projects.”

Remember when…

Dan & family traveled to the Pacific Northwest

Leigha and family visited grand-parents, Lake Barkley, and lots of water

Brett & family traveled to Tennessee and Georgia

Pete did something that sounds like WORK

“The Mostly Reverend” took on some native critters (and, er… lost…?)

Kelly & hubby got a parent break

Sarah got Wally into the pool

Mike came home from the hospital

Heather celebrated her sister’s wedding ;)

And I got to ride my Harley with more than 30 amazing women!

I think I’ll try to remember to resurrect this post next January, when we are all wishing for warmer weather!

Thanks. By then, hopefully I’ll be bragging about how I learned to ski out in Colorado, possibly at Steamboat Springs. I doubt if it’ll be anything more sophisticated than the beginner slopes, though. It should be fun. I’ve bought an Idiot’s Guide and a For Dummies book on skiing and hope that I’ll be able to do something right on the first day–such as get on the chairlift.
