Beaverdale Hy-Vee plans meet neighborhood resistance

Posted on August 29, 2007 in Schools & Neighborhoods by DM

Beaverdale area neighbors have many concerns about plans by Hy-Vee Food Stores to build a new store at the corner of Beaver and Douglas Avenues. A recent informational meeting for neighbors hosted by Hy-Vee brought many of the neighbors’ concerns to the forefront of the discussion, and additional meetings about the project are planned as follows:

August 30, 2007:
Beaverdale Neighborhood Association Board of Directors Special Meeting
(open to the public - no Board action planned)
Hy-Vee representatives will be present to discuss the store’s plans with the Board.
6:30 p.m. at Calvin Community (4210 Hickman Road) on the Garden (lower) Level.

Tuesday, September 4, 2007
Hy-Vee presentation to Beaverdale area residents
6 p.m. at the Northwest Community Center (5110 Franklin Avenue)

This meeting is being held to provide an opportunity for those who could not attend the first meeting to hear about Hy-Vee’s plans.
