Duffy Lyon endorses Obama’s buttery goodness

Posted on October 25, 2007 in Politics by DM

political party graphicIn case you missed the week’s most critical presidential endorsement, it was that Norma “Duffy” Lyon endorsed Barack Obama.

Of course, you would be well within your rights to ask, “Who the heck is Duffy Lyon?” Ms. Lyon is the octogenarian dairy farmer in Tama, Iowa, who for nearly 50 years carved butter sculptures displayed at the Iowa State Fair. (She not only carved the world-renowned Butter Cow every year, she also carved in various years a Butter Elvis, a Butter Harley [Davidson], a Butter Harry Potter and a Butter Last Supper.)

I think the really important question here, though, is not “who is Duffy Lyon?” Rather, the question is: Will Duffy’s endorsement of Obama give him the same boost that Chuck Norris has given the Huckabee campaign?

if he’s elected, she’s going to have to come out of retirement to create a Butter O’Bama at Fair!
