My other public appearance

Friday night’s karaoke adventure was actually my second live performance last week: I spent some time on November 8 as a guest speaker at Tim Johnson’s business leadership class, talking about social media for business and personal use. I also got to talk a bit about my role in the Age of Conversation collaborative blog-to-book project.

What a great group of students! Lots of great questions - I really liked the discussion of how you have to be conscious of what you put on your MySpace, Facebook, and other public pages, because employers are out there using those tools to learn more about you. For the rest of the semester, the students are charged with creating a “change the world” project… I’m curious if social media will appear in any of their blueprints.
