A little weekend report
Posted on November 19, 2007 in Health Care, Personal thoughts by DM
Wow, it has been a tough week. Short version: my dad is in the hospital and I’m sure he will be much better very soon, but I am exhausted! A few observations/questions:
- Why does it ALWAYS take six (yes, SIX) hours for an emergency room visit? Six hours from moment of entry to being admitted/settled into a room. This has happened on so many occasions I can’t even count them anymore.
- When a family emergency arises, it’s going to be at the worst possible time of year at work.
- Do you know what laundry smells like that’s been sitting, forgotten and wet, in the washing machine for more than a day? Yeah, me too.
- The physiology of how all your digestive organs work together to rid your body of toxins is amazing. When it malfunctions, the effects are downright frightening.
- Nurses are probably an under-appreciated group of people, considering the huge variety of medical and personal-care tasks they perform.
So, how was YOUR weekend??
