Odds and ends

Reunited…
Guess I’m a sucker for a good piece of technology. I went and paid for a second LG enV cellphone over the weekend, to replace the one I lost on Christmas Eve (after owning it less than a week). This photo of my friend’s dog gives you an idea of how good the camera is - I loaded the photo onto my computer screen, and used the enV to shoot it right off the screen. Original photos from this camera are even better.
Give ‘em a break (out):
This item from one of my favorite marketing newsletters begs for a snappy punchline, but I am fresh out:
“An increasing number of court systems accept credit cards for those who have been arrested and are posting bail. Consequently, many cardholders receive points redeemable for gifts and travel as a result of their arrest.”
I guess that’s okay because every convict surely needs a little R&R after running the arrest-booking-bail gauntlet.
Does this happen to you?
Awhile back, I was considering going back to school to get an MBA, so I Googled several searches related to that. Within a few days, the spam in my Yahoo! email in-box began to reflect subject lines like “Going back to school?” or “Get your MBA!” Then, with my dad in and out of the hospital, I got curious about how much nurses make and what duties they specifically perform (vs. the patient care technicians), so again Googled some relevant phrases… and again, my spam began to reflect those searches. This could get interesting…
Guess we know Christmas is over…
…because the covers of the women’s magazines have shifted their focus from cookies and holiday baking to weight loss and getting-organized tips for the new year. Not that I don’t need those things, but man the cycle is SO predictable.

So…I guess crime really does pay? Sorry - that’s the best I can do.
