Woops, I did it again - another new blog

uh oh flickr photo by mel b Remember my post about simplifying my blogging life in 2008? Ha, yeah, me too. Well, that was short-lived. I think it was only a couple days later I bought a new domain name. With all that’s going on in my life these days it took me longer than usual to get the blog set up, but I’m excited to note that as of this weekend I have a new blog!

This one’s a little different - it’s intended to be a money-maker, or at least a pin-money-maker. Or, well, let’s call it a pin-money-making experiment. That will ensure my expectations remain low. What I mean is, some of the posts will hopefully be “paid posts” - which doesn’t mean they are ads in and of themselves, but it means there will be links to various advertiser’s services contained in the topics I’m already writing about. My goal is to keep it fun and entertaining while still being able to blend in a paid link now and then.

To get started I’ve written a few fresh posts that set the overall tone (caution: the overall tone is “Janet’s weird humor”), and I also moved over some of the humorous columns from this blog. (Well, *I* found them funny anyway.) As for DMweblife, it’s going strong and will remain a place where I share not only my own thoughts about life and living in Greater Des Moines, but also help to continue building the sense of community among local bloggers.
