CIB - good to be back!

It hit me yesterday during an email exchange with Michael Libbie that I had not attended a Central Iowa Bloggers meeting for awhile. This is a monthly gathering of enthusiastic bloggers and social media users, and for the longest time I had a standing conflict with their normal meeting date/time. Then I changed jobs… but then my summer went somehwere in a hand-basket… and now that we are moved and somewhat settled, it occurred to me that I could probably attend CIB again. So I did - and WOW, met lots of wonderful new folks and saw some old friends whom I have missed, ate a wonderful bagel, and just really enjoyed myself.

While talking with Libbie, he gave me a couple thoughts on how to tweak my work website, which is blog-based… it was stuff I knew had to be done, and I just had not put my brain to it yet. Now that it’s done I’m feeling a renewed enthusiasm for doing some additional blog maintenance here at DMweblife.

I’ll be looking at a variety of ways to make reading/using the site more interactive, an to make writing/managing the site easier.  I’m also hoping to continue to build the audience here. It’s truly rewarding when I get to interact with someone who reads the blog - usually through their comments - and I was interested to note that this site passed the 10,000-visits-a-month mark in October.  (That’s tiny, I suppose, but it sure felt like a milestone!)

    Shane, yes, first Friday’s at Panera on University, WDM… officially I think it starts at 8, but folks are always there early… I was there around 7:45 and it was in full swing. GREAT to see everyone and meet some new folks! ~ Janet
