The hardest working room in the house

While my poor hubby is recuperating from some sort of shoulder/neck issue (which is preventing him from working on building a bar in the rec room), I decided to focus on setting up the small third bedroom in our house for my “office.”
This room really has to multi-task: I wanted a computer desk for blogging, genealogy and writing; I wanted a crafting table; and I needed a dressing room. The dressing room we’d already figured out – I simply commandeered this closet for my clothes, leaving Steve with the closet in the master bedroom for himself.
All I really needed for crafty stuff was a work table, and for the computer, I wanted some sort of corner desk unit so I could have the laptop and plenty of desktop room to spread out papers, books, and research material.
It’s hard to get a decent picture (in fact, I didn’t really try very hard – I just snapped a shot of the computer desk, complete with cat, who apparently approves), but the room ended up with all the tables just running around the periphery, open space in the middle. Certainly won’t win any design contests, but it’s very functional and I think the space can effectively serve all three purposes even though it’s only 10×11 feet in size.
And yes, the big handmade desk I got from my neighbor is alive and well and serving as a kitchen island in the new house.
